Aikido is more than just a budo.
Aikido is a community of people working in mutual respect while also having fun.
The members of DAF ar orgnised in dojos spread out all across the country of Denmark. Volunteers often also pitch in at the many events organised by the federation. Besides the element of Aikido as a sports activity, the federation have also expereinced how Aikido is a very positive influence on children and young people. The values that is contained in this budo works quite well with the discipline inhereted from the background in Japanese martial arts to instill a postiive development with the young members.
The Danish Aikido Federation (DAF) was founded in 2005 by the majority of Danish Aikido dojos with the clear purpose to create an organisation based on a positive spirit and a serious effort to highten the quality of Aikido in Denmark across styles and inspirations. Expressed through both seminars, social gatherings and other relevant activities.
The dojos registered with DAF are connected to the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan and Det Internationale Aikido Forbund (IAF) through the involvement with the federation.
